Ravensburger published this puzzle in 2002 and it is now very rare and difficult to find. The title is Historical World Maps. The puzzle includes four different old maps from classic cartographers, like Abraham Ortelius, or Claes Janszoon Visscher.
The puzzle is like NEW, with all the pieces SEALED inside the original plastic bag. The poster and all other brochures are in excellent condition. The box is in very good condition as well.
It measures 276 x 192 cm, so it is a really large puzzle. It comes in several bags, so it is possible to assemble the puzzle in parts, in case you don’t have the space for such a large puzzle.
Other Historical World Maps
Many other maps have their puzzle version. The Magna Carta, by Nicholaes Visscher I, is a very popular one. There is a 6000 piece version by Clementoni, a 5000 piece version by Ravensburger, and a 4000 piece version by Piatnik.
Abraham Ortelius is another important classic cartographer. His Theatrum Orbis Terrarum has a 3000 piece version by Educa, and a 2000 piece version by Tenyo. However, the largest single puzzle map is the 13200 piece version by Clementoni of the Nova Totius Terrarum Sive Novi Orbis Tabula.
There are also many other smaller puzzle versions of different maps. In fact, some puzzle fans collect maps only. Most of them are very nice and not difficult to assemble.
