Description

Excellent puzzle that Educa published in 2003. Although it surfaces sometimes, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find. It depicts the painting Le Parnasse, by Nicolas Poussin. There is another version by Educa in 4000 pieces. Both of them are very rare now.

This painting is a celebration of the Arts, especially Poetry. It depicts Parnassus, a mythological mount consecrated to Apollo (god of the sun, art and poetry) and the Muses. In the center, Apollo is offering the nectar of the gods to a poet, probably Homer, who is crowned with a laurel wreath by Calliope, the muse of heroic poetry. Several cupids are also offering the sacred drink to poets and wise men of ancient times.

The puzzle is NEW, with its original FACTORY SEAL.
