Description

Educa published this beautiful map in 1997, although there is a later version from 2005 in a black box. The title is Orbis Terrarum Nova et Accuratissima Tabula, by Nicolaes Visscher I, with a map drawn in 1658. In English, the title means New and Very Accurate Map of the World.

There are many other puzzles with maps by Nicolaes Visscher I, although the most popular one is the 6000 piece version by Clementoni of the Magna Carta. At least, most puzzle collectors will be familiar with that one. Ravensburger used the same map for their 5000 piece puzzle Historical Map of the World. Even Piatnik published a 4000 piece version with the title Antique Map of the World. Despite the fact that those three puzzles have different sizes and different titles, they all actually refer to the same map by Nicolaes Visscher I. More recently, Ravensburger has used another map by Visscher for their large 18000 piece Historical World Maps.

The puzzle is like NEW, with all the pieces SEALED inside the original plastic bag. The box is in very good condition.
