This is a very old and rare puzzle that Ravensburger produced in 1972. The title is The Chase, by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.
Although the artist of the original painting is Jean-Baptiste Oudry, it is, in fact, a tapestry that came from the famous Gobelins Manufactory. The name of the artist appears in the image, in one of the rocks in the foreground: “Oudry 1.746”. In the box by Ravensburger, the date is 1743, which is surely an error. The name of the weaver appears also at the bottom right corner: “AUDRAN”. It refers to Jean Audran.
The puzzle is COMPLETE (2000 pieces). The pieces are in excellent condition and the box is in very good condition, with a tear in one of the corners of the lid.
In 1973 Ravensburger published a 1000 piece version of Stag Hunt, also by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.
